Sometimes
Sometimes we see things in color
Sometimes in black and white
Sometimes we succumb to the darkness
Sometimes we bathe in the light
Sometimes we know what's wrong
Sometimes we know what's right
Sometimes we crumble in weakness
Sometimes we unleash our might
Sometimes we cower in fear
Sometimes we're brave enough to fight
Sometimes we're very perceptive
Sometimes we lose sight
Sometimes our judgments are cloudy
But mostly, they're clear and bright
Sometimes we're cruel for no reason
But most of the time, we know how to be polite
Sometimes we think that we're not good enough
But our presence alone would suffice
Sometimes we lose ourselves in guilt
Other times,
We enjoy the rewards with great delight
Things might happen tomorrow
Or they might happen tonight
But if you hold your head up high
And have faith
I guarantee you
Everything is going to be alright

Your Word Calms My Soul
A confusing state
Where fear thrives and hate
Shameful, so then I hide
I'm your filthy, stained bride
When I feel unloved
Whenever I sob
When all things go wrong
Where do I belong?
Everything is unfair
I can no longer bear
And then You came over
Then I heard You whisper
"You're mine,
I'm your Lover."
As dark as the darkest coal
My imperfections, my sins
You kissed away, took them all
Sewn my heart with perfect seams
Placed a light, eternal beam
Took all that would take a toll
Whenever the world screams
Your Word calms my soul
The Memory Lane
I am down
The memory lane
I saw bliss
I saw pain
But they were not long
As short as a song
The hatred, the laughter
The weeping hereafter
Then,
The bend in the road
A sign
A bode
I don't know where you are
I might have the idea
Wherever it is,
it might be far
Another day
Chapter, way
We merge
Then we diverge
Choosing solidarity
To forgo a pal
Of rarity
'Tis temporary
I'll still send prayers
Whilst we're apart
Take heart
'Tis not the end
Tomorrow
No more sorrow
Whenever I can
I'll see you again
What I Learned Along the Way
There's a proverb I know
A true friend sticks closer than a brother
He's there during life's tranquility
But soldiers on even the seas get stormy
Better a neighbor nearby than a family away
A cord of three strands is not easy to break
Kneels down with you when you pray
Another proverb I learned along the way
So to my dear beloved peer
I cherish you and I'm always all ears
Here's to warming each other every winter
And to sharing every of our summer laughter
For my friend, Cristy.
